Unusual Log Cabin Setting



Is it Cotton (I don't think so)? Silk (seems more like rayon)? A Wool Challis?

Really eye-catching setting using a Log Cabin block as the center medallion of a quilt. The fabrics have me a bit stumped though.

Fabulous 1830 Patchwork Pillowcases!

I stumbled across these today and just had to share them. They are so rare.

1830s Exquisitely made pair of pieced pillow cases in the Evening Stars pattern. Handmade ricrac along the edges is the ultimate in fine detail.The initials EH are embroidered on each in the tiniest of stitches.
These would make a glorious finish to a finely turned bed.
Made in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania in the 1830's.
